FREE MOTION QUILTING 101
Fancy or high-end sewing machines (like a long arm) aren?t required for free motion quilting! Participants will learn the basics of beginning free motion quilting on their home (domestic) sewing machines. We?ll practice doodling, prepping the machine, and learn beginner-friendly designs using practice quilt sandwiches. Then we'll practically apply those designs to the Stay Focused pillow. You?ll receive a Reference Guide to take home with you for continued practice.

You?ll also receive a Reference Guide to take home with you for continued practice.

FreeSpirit Fabrics, Pink Door Fabrics, Paper Pieces and Augusta Sewing Center Present Queen of Diamonds Block of the Month English Paper Piecing Project Featuring Everglow, Moon Garden, Daydreamer, Tiny Beasts, Curiouser & Curiouser, True Colors & Solids by Tula Pink. ASC will host this Block of the Month, providing learning, encouragement, and camaraderie as we work through this project together. Cost of the program is $584.99 which includes fabric for the quilt front and binding (over 13 yards) and the pattern. Payments can be broken into four payments of $146.25. The first payment is due at sign-up with the remainder due 1 August 2023, 1 November 2023, and 1 January 2024. If you choose to pay in full at sign-up you will receive an English Paper Piecing Starter Kit valued at approximately $50.

Prismatic is a 10-month BLOCK-OF-THE-MONTH program designed to showcase a rainbow-colored batik collection enhanced by black batiks for glowing contrast. The Prismatic design is 91-inch square and features both square & rectangular blocks. We will meet the first Saturday of every month to provide instructions, demonstrations and answer any questions you may have. Fabric for entire quilt top included in registration fee. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, ?Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.?

Free motion quilters can really take advantage of the design to hone your skills! You?ll be learning 2-at-a-time half square triangles and sashing and cornerstone tips/tricks. As an added bonus for taking this class, you?ll get the mini mate pillow companion pattern. To get through the majority of the pattern, please have ALL fabric AND materials ready prior to class starting. We will be starting promptly at 10am! We?ll also be working through lunch. If you prefer not to miss part of the class, please bring something with you. Kits are available in AASC with Art Gallery Fabrics Vert Fusion.
